Day 9: Apprehending Mayhem

Wind moans as it rubs against the buildings.
Hair whips into your face.
From a distant room, a child sings.
It's that eerie noise that makes your heat race.
You don't know what you're looking for,
But there's a gut feeling you just can't ignore.
You travel on at a wicked pace.
A lone gun shot wildly rings.
You see a figure and start the chase.
Mayhem cackles; the knife wound stings.
You haven't failed your job before,
But the light is spilling through God's open door.
